Rachel was not given to Jacob a week later- it was seven years later!!!

Thank you for your comment. In fact, however, it is recorded in Genesis 29:27-30 that Laban told Jacob to spend the first week with Leah and then he could marry Rachel, in return for an additional seven years of work. Thus, Rachel was given to Jacob a week later, but he also had committed to another seven years of work for her.
