Who wrote this piece? It is full of misinformation. Just to name a few: You have used the Passamaquoddy spellings of our name and of our river, not the Maliseet spellings — WÉ™lastÉ™kwiyik and WÉ™lastÉ™kw which are more conducive to proper pronunciation. Secondly, while our language and beliefs may have been somewhat similar to those of the Ojibway it is inaccurate to say that we had a belief in Midewiwin, which is is a set of spiritual beliefs and practices quite unique to the Objibway.
