You have made a mistake re- his conversion to Roman Catholicism – his was a death bed conversion confirmed by the priest. Both his wives were Jewish.

There does seem to be some confusion in the sources regarding his religious affiliation. Certainly he was born into a Jewish family, spent most of his life as an agnostic, and at some point converted to Catholicism receiving the Last Rites on his death bed. The article will be revised to reflect this.
