This historical event is properly The Irish Famine, or The Great Famine. Omit the word potato in the title. Thank you

Actually, the famine is commonly referred to as the Potato Famine because the potato crop failed. Look up in a search engine, or consult a library, and you will find many dozens of books that use the term “potato” famine. What is your authority for claiming that the “proper: title omits “potato”. Who determines “proper” here. The thought police? What happened to intellectual and academic freedom?
