Excellent treatment of the physical body element to chemical to cell, tissue, organ and system.

It was an interesting choice to include the Chinese (qi) and Hindu (chakras) philosophical aspects, as well as a nod to religion, which were interesting, but in my opinion, not relevant to the topic. Otherwise, why not include the medieval humors: sanguine, phlegmatic, bilious, atrabilious

There appears, however to be a typo:
“and a square of skin contains on the average 650 sweat glands, 20 blood vessels, and more than a thousand nerve endings.”
It seems like the author intended to say, “a square inch of skin

One more comment. The article says, “There are … approximately 100 trillion cells in the average adult” and “The average adult human body is estimated to have ten trillion cells.”

This probably represents a range of opinion rather than an internal contradiction. Perhaps the ideas should be grouped together and this fact noted as in the resource below:

Elsewhere, I found this: ” Some sources told us that the average adult human body is made up of “50 million million” (50 trillion) cells, while others put the figure closer to 10 trillion. Science NetLinks, a resource for science teachers, stated that there are approximately “ten to the 14th power” (that’s 100 trillion) cells in the human body. Keep in mind, all of these figures are just estimates.” http://ask.yahoo.com/20020625.html
