Thank you for this article on Cape Town.
It is good and informative.
I have just noticed two errors.
1. See the paragraph ” Bartholomeu Dias from Portugal arrived in 1486 after journeying south along the east coast of Africa, followed by Vasco da Gama in 1497, while he was searching for a route that would lead from Europe to Asia. Portuguese admiral Antonio da Saldanha named Table Mountain in 1503. The Khoi inhabitants, who were were herders, hunters, and gatherers, called it Hoeri ‘kwaggo (“sea mountain”).”
The first sentence should rather read:
Dias sailed around the southernmost tip of Africa in 1488, the first European known to have done so.

2. See the sentence “”Coloured people,” who are mostly from British and Zulu heritage, account for 48.13 percent of the population”
The Cape Coloured people (or Cape Malay) came to the Cape from various Asian countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, India etc. They were brought as slaves and spoke a common language called Malayo (Portuguese dialect) hence they were called Cape Malay.
