“…..Despite his immense skill, however, Arjuna was still defeated in a competition with Karna, who, unknown to Arjuna, was the sixth Pandava brother, abandoned by Kunti at birth.”

The above statement in the site is utterly wrong. Arjuna defeats Karna ALL the times they face each-other. Please make the change, one can refer the following translation available online
http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/maha/index.htm

Also, besides the aforementioned link, the other translations also clearly mention Arjuna’s various victories over Karna.

Hello Nilesh,

Thank you for your feedback. As you know, the Mahabharata is an enormous epic narrative with many sub-stories. In one of these sub-stories, Karna and Arjuna have a competition to see who is the best warrior. It is in this story of the competition that Karna is proclaimed to be a better warrior than Arjuna. Therefore, while it is true that Karna eventually defeated Arjuna in direct combat (following Krishna’s guidance), he surpassed Arjuna in martial skill. Please read the story from the Mahabharata found here:

Although it is a well written article, some of the content needs to be revised again, especially after the completion of so many important works a few years back,
“…He was described as a diligent student of the combative arts, learning everything that his guru, Dronacharya, could teach him, and attaining the status of “Maharathi” or outstanding warrior. ”
-Arjuna was the only student to attain the status known ‘Atirathi’ not Maharathi.
“Despite his immense skill, however, Arjuna was still defeated in a competition with Karna, who, unknown to Arjuna, was the sixth Pandava brother, abandoned by Kunti at birth.”
-This is actually wrong. Arjuna finally defeat and kill Karna in last battle. Despite, there are many narrations where Arjuna defeats him.
I think the article was last updated 10 years ago, so I guess we can go back to Arjun’s article page on Wikipedia once again as it has been heavily revised since then.
