Nice article. But with all due respect, I am submitting a formal correction. Ahn Jung-Gun was *not* executed by hanging. A recent Korean documentary indicates that he was executed by firing squad. I concur – this is *my* family history.

Respectfully,
Anthony Ahn, Jr.

I wish to make a formal correction to my previous statement. It was made in haste without proper verification of the sources. The Korean documentary referenced referred to a different member of the “Ahn” family. Recent digging into my family history has revealed the following facts regarding An Jung-Geun’s execution:

An requested to be executed as a prisoner of war, by firing squad. But instead, the Japanese officials chose to treat him as a common criminal and ordered him to be hanged. In order to prevent An from becoming a martyr and symbol of inspiration for the the Korean people, the Japanese hastily disposed of his body, and to this day it exact whereabouts remain unknown.

My deepest and most sincere apologies,
Anthony Ahn, Jr.

I appreciate the quick response to my first comment. But I would like to see the more recent corrections made to this article. Changes have already been made to the Wiki article.

Sincerely,
Anthony Ahn, Jr.
